AML Partners today announced a leadership transition designed to support the company’s continued growth and technology strategy. Jonathan Almeida, currently Global Head of Sales, will become Chief Executive Officer of AML Partners. Co-founder and current CEO Frank Cummings will become Chairman of the Board, with a continued focus on AI strategy and technology vision.

The transition builds on AML Partners’ existing leadership team and reflects the company’s evolution as financial institutions increasingly look for compliance technology that can adapt to changing regulations, operating requirements, data environments, and emerging technologies.

From global growth to company leadership

Almeida, a co-founder of the firm, has played a central role in AML Partners’ global growth, working closely with financial institutions, partners, and the AML Partners team to translate complex compliance requirements into practical technology strategies. As CEO, he will lead the company’s business and operations while continuing to advance its customer-focused approach to compliance technology.

“AML Partners has reached an exciting point in its evolution,” Almeida said. “Financial institutions need compliance technology that can keep pace with regulatory change, new operating demands, and the rapid development of AI without sacrificing governance or control. We have a strong team, a powerful technology foundation in RegTechONE, and a clear vision for where the industry is heading. I’m looking forward to leading the company through this next stage and, above all, continuing to solve the difficult compliance challenges our customers face.”

Frank Cummings to chair board, focus on AI strategy and technology vision

Cummings, who co-founded AML Partners with Almeida, has led the company through the development and expansion of RegTechONE, AML Partners’ no-code compliance platform. As Chairman, he will remain actively involved in setting the company’s strategic direction, with particular emphasis on artificial intelligence, technology architecture, and the continued evolution of RegTechONE.

That focus comes at an important point for the compliance technology industry. AI is expanding what financial institutions can automate and augment, but it is also increasing the importance of governance, transparency, and control. AML Partners has been developing its technology around a model in which AI capabilities operate within governed compliance processes rather than outside them.

Cummings said he is excited about this transition and the company’s future:“Jonathan understands our customers, our technology, and where we need to go as a company. I have tremendous confidence in his ability to lead AML Partners, and this is the right time for him to take on that role. As Chairman, I’ll be able to focus more of my attention on AI strategy and the technology vision behind RegTechONE—particularly how we give financial institutions the ability to take advantage of powerful new capabilities while keeping compliance operations governed, adaptable, and firmly under their control.”

Building for what comes next in AML Compliance and RegTech

The new roles also reinforce continuity in AML Partners’ broader direction. The company will continue to invest in RegTechONE and its no-code architecture, helping financial institutions build and change compliance operations without creating the technical dependencies that can make legacy systems increasingly difficult to adapt.

For AML Partners, the transition pairs strong execution today with sustained attention to how compliance technology needs to evolve for tomorrow.

“We have always believed that compliance technology should give institutions greater control over how they operate and change,” Cummings said. “That principle has guided our technology from the beginning, and it will continue to guide how we innovate.”

Almeida assumes the CEO role effective Sept. 2, 2026, with Cummings serving as Chairman of the Board.
